The Carrajung South Primary School began it's long history in 1898 in a multi purpose building built by local residents to serve as a hall, church and school.

The initial enrolement was around 25 pupils with the first head master being Arthur Fox. The school was made half time and paired with Willung South from 1907 until 1919 . It became full time again in 1920.
In 1925 the Education Department erected a school to replace the leased hall and then added a second room in 1954

As with many 'bush' schools, the Carrajung South school has been the focal point for the community over its many years

Unfortunately, due to reduced enrolments, the school is now closed.
